REFERRAL PROCESS FOR CHILDREN
How do I get help for my child?
You can get help by contacting one or more of the following professionals:
If you feel unable to make this step for your child (or a child in your care) on your own, consider confiding in a safe and trusted friend and ask them to help you to the next step towards a SAFER and healthier life!
Make an appointment with someone close by in your area. These professionals are aware of SAFE and are trained to support you in getting the understanding and help that you need to move forward.
Children are referred to SAFE from Child Youth & Family Services (CYFS), family members, friends, or other professionals within the community.
It is important for you to note that, where CYFS does not know about the referral to SAFE, and the child concerned is having unsupervised contact with other children (particularly those younger than them), SAFE will usually want CYFS to be involved. If this occurs we are committed to working with you, and CYFS to ensure that the safest outcome is reached for all concerned.
