THE ROLE OF A SUPPORT PERSON
SUPPORT PEOPLE NEED TO BE WILLING TO:
- Be in regular contact (at least weekly face-to-face) with the person attending the treatment service and ideally be living in the home with them
- Attend review meetings when required (minimum of five meetings over 24 months)
- Be informed of all offending committed by the person attending the treatment service and need to believe that these offenses have been committed as described during the assessment interview
- Learn the safety guidelines and encourage the person attending the treatment service to keep these at all times
- Consider the safety of children as paramount
- Have an active role in supporting the person attending the treatment service and agree not to keep their risky activities secret
- Speak to SAFE if they are concerned about the persons behaviours for any reason
- Abide by our limited confidentiality policy
